The Rainy Lake Medical Center Auxiliary presented RLMC officials with a $6,500 donation during volunteer week April 17.

The funds, raised through RLMC gift shop sales and other auxiliary-sponsored events, will support a surgical gurney in RLMC’s surgery department.

“The auxiliary members do so much for RLMC, and we are extremely grateful for this donation,” said RLMC CEO Robb Pastor. “We continue to thank them as a team and individually for everything they do to help provide high-quality healthcare right here in our community.”

Auxiliary president Pam Peterson expressed appreciation for the auxiliary, and is proud of what the group accomplishes every year.

“Our group of volunteers love what they do, and take great pride in being able to give back to RLMC,” she said. “We are also so grateful for the support of the RLMC staff and the community. That support allows us to be successful.”

The caring team of volunteers at RLMC is made up of permanent and seasonal residents of Borderland communities who give their time to help make the campus a better experience for all. Volunteers assist in several areas throughout the facility by operating the gift shop and enhancing employee and patient experiences. Volunteers have the opportunity to match their skills and interests with meaningful assignments.

In the last five years, the auxiliary has donated more than $25,000 to RLMC.
