Each year, the Rainy Lake Medical Foundation hosts a variety of community events to raise awareness and generate support for the Rainy Lake Medical Center.
We also invite the public to hold their own events and fundraisers. Please contact Ashley Hall if you would like to host an event.

Bingo
Halloween Bingo
Every October, the RLMC Foundation hosts a lively bingo fundraiser at the International Falls VFW. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in costume; local businesses generously donate themed baskets for raffle, and bingo winners take home fantastic prizes. Icebox Bingo
Warm up your winter with our annual bingo night! Our winter bingo night takes place during the famous International Falls Icebox Days annual celebration – time when our community comes together to embrace the frosty fun of our northern winters. Hosted at the VFW, this lively evening is the perfect chance to shake off the chill, connect with friends and neighbors, and enjoy some truly memorable winter entertainment. Expect laughter, friendly competition, great prizes, and classic bingo-night excitement.
Best of all? Every card played and every raffle ticket purchased helps support our mission and strengthens local healthcare that make a real difference in our community.
5K/10K
Every year the RLMC Foundation hosts a Color 5k and recently added on a timed 10k (without color). People from all over the country venture north for these fun races at the end of August. Lace up and join us for a day of running, fun, and giving back! Our 5K and 10K races bring the community together to support an important cause close to home — the Rainy Lake Medical Center Chemotherapy & Infusion Department. Need more reason to run? Our Color 5k and 10k races also fall on the same weekend as the beloved International Falls Bass Championship!
Big Catch 10K
Run or walk 6.2 scenic miles during the excitement of the International Falls Bass Championship weekend. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply looking for a beautiful northern Minnesota run, the Big Catch 10K is a great way to challenge yourself while making a difference in the lives of local patients and families.
Color 5K
Get ready to get messy! The Color 5K is a fun, family-friendly event featuring vibrant color stations along the route. Walk, run, dance, and get covered in color while supporting local cancer care. Costumes and colorful outfits are encouraged!
Whether you choose the Big Catch 10K or the Color 5K, every step helps support cancer patients receiving care right here in our community. Run with us. Support local healthcare. Make every mile matter.

Rural Health Day: Third Thursday of November
Since 2011, the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) has set aside the third Thursday of November to celebrate the “Power of Rural” on National Rural Health Day (NRHD). This day is an opportunity to bring attention to and honor the incredible efforts of rural healthcare providers, communities, organizations, State Offices of Rural Health, and other stakeholders dedicated to addressing the unique healthcare needs of rural America.
At Rainy Lake Medical Center, we not only celebrate the day, but we are transforming this annual day of recognition into something special. In 2025, the city of International Falls and Ranier declared November 20, 2025, as National Rural Health Day. We hosted tours of our campus for local leaders, and we sold Rural Health Day shirts, with proceeds going back to benefit local rural health.
