Rainy Lake Medical Center officials this week announced the arrival of Dr. Robert Fischer, a board-certified otolaryngologist, to the team of dedicated providers, expanding access to specialized ear, nose, and throat (or ENT) care for patients in the community.
With more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Fischer brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of ENT conditions. His commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care aligns with RLMC’s mission to provide high-quality healthcare close to home.

Dr. Fischer graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his otolaryngology residency at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Virginia while serving in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps, where he dedicated 10 years of service.
Following his military career, Dr. Fischer practiced for five years at Duluth Clinic in Minnesota before establishing and operating a successful private practice in Wyoming for two decades. In recent years, he has continued to serve communities across the Midwest, including North Dakota, Bemidji, Glenwood, and Madelia, Minnesota.
Dr. Fischer is passionate about staying active both professionally and personally. Outside of medicine, he enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors, including activities such as whitewater rafting and hiking.
