Rainy Lake Medical Center (RLMC) announced this week that Chief Executive Officer Robb Pastor has signed a new five-year contract, marking a significant milestone as he becomes the longest-tenured CEO in the organization’s history.

Pastor, who joined RLMC in 2018, has led RLMC through a period of remarkable growth, cultural transformation, a global pandemic and strategic planning for the future.

Under Pastor’s leadership, RLMC has strengthened its clinical services, expanded access to care, and fostered a culture centered on employee engagement and community trust. The organization has also made major strides in financial stability and long-term planning, positioning RLMC for continued success.

“It has been a true privilege to serve this community and to lead alongside an extraordinary group of people,” said Pastor. “What we have accomplished together is the result of an unwavering commitment to our mission, our patients, to one another, and to the belief that rural healthcare can be exceptional. From strengthening patient care to building a culture grounded in trust, accountability, and compassion, this progress belongs to every employee, provider, and trustee. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to continue this work and energized by what lies ahead, especially as we move closer to delivering a new hospital that will serve this community for generations to come.

Dick Peterson, chairperson of the RLMC Board of Trustees, praised Pastor’s leadership and the stability he has brought to the organization.

“Robb’s impact on Rainy Lake Medical Center has been transformative,” Peterson said. “His steady leadership, vision, and deep commitment to this community have guided RLMC through significant growth and positive cultural change. The board is confident that extending his contract is the right step for our patients, our staff, and the future of healthcare in our region.”
