Patients undergoing chemotherapy and infusion treatments at Rainy Lake Medical Center will soon experience greater comfort, thanks to a generous local donation.
North Star Electric Cooperative, in partnership with CoBank, has contributed $10,000toward the purchase of heated massage chairs for RLMC’s infusion center. These chairs are designed to provide warmth and relaxation during lengthy treatment sessions.
“These chairs will significantly enhance patient comfort,” said Betsy Loop,a registered nurse at RLMC.
Loop said patients often get cold during treatment, and while heated blankets are available, these chairs will offer a more consistent and soothing solution.
RLMC’s Chemotherapy and Infusion Therapy Department offers treatment close to home from our expert and compassionate staff. By working closely with physicians and pharmacists, we ensure high-quality care with hometown comfort. You can receive both chemotherapy and infusion therapy treatments in a private room, where you can relax in a comfortable recliner with a TV and extra seating for your support person.
RLMC staff works with patients who have central lines, picc lines and port-a-caths, as well as those needing blood and platelet transfusions. Our dedicated, supportive staff helps patients with managing stress, identifying support networks and planning for the future.
North Star Electric Cooperative and CoBank share a longstanding commitment to supporting rural communities. CoBank, a cooperative bank, provides financial services to electric cooperatives and other rural industries across the country.
