If sharps are not disposed of safely, they can inure people and spread infections.
To prevent this, Rainy Lake Medical Center proudly offers a free sharps disposal program to International Falls and the surrounding communities.
How does it work?
Patients and staff can come to Rainy Lake Medical Center’s main hospital entrance or the laboratory from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday to receive up to two FDA approved sharps containers and instructions on how to use them. They will also be available through Rainy Lake Clinic nursing.
When using the sharps container, make sure it is stored in a safe place away from children and pets. When it is ¾ full, seal the container and return it to RLMC. Upon return, you will be offered a fresh, empty container.
How much does it cost?
This service is offered to the residential public for free.
