Rainy Lake Medical Center officials this week announced the hire of Craig Boyer as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer, or CFO.

Boyer, a native of Bemidji, brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare finance leadership, most recently having served as CFO of a six-hospital health system in Montana for more than three years.

“I was really looking for a small-town healthcare organization to be involved with,” Boyer said when he relocated back to northern Minnesota and applied for the position at RLMC. “I feel like I can really make a big difference in the organization and the community.”

Boyer said he also liked the stability of RLMC’s leadership team. Knowing the majority of the organization’s directors have been at RLMC for several years assured Boyer that people enjoy working at the facility.

“That really stood out to me,” he said. “In my previous jobs, I’ve miss connecting with the day-to-day operations. I wanted to be some place where I can be tied more to the work that is being done… and connect more closely and support with the care that’s being provided at the bedside.”

RLMC CEO Robb Pastor said he looks forward to the wealth of knowledge and expertise Boyer will bring to the team.

“We’re excited to have Craig on board as our CFO and a member of our executive team,” Pastor said. “Craig’s knowledge is exactly what we are looking for as our organization keeps growing and propelling forward.”
