Occupational Therapy

What It Is
Occupational therapy helps children build the skills they need for everyday life, like dressing, playing, learning, and interacting with others.

Who It’s For
Children ages birth to 21 with:

  • Developmental delays
  • Fine and gross motor challenges
  • Sensory processing difficulties
  • Autism, ADHD
  • Feeding/lactation concerns

What to Expect

  • Referral from a medical provider is required

Benefits

  • Promotes independence and confidence
  • Supports success at home, school, and in the community
  • Therapists collaborate with families and schools to ensure continuity of care

School vs. Medical-Based Therapy
School-based OT supports educational goals through an IEP. Medical-based OT addresses broader needs that may not qualify for school services.

Physical Therapy

What It Is
Physical therapy helps children improve movement, strength, coordination, and balance, especially when delays or injuries affect their ability to participate in daily activities.

Who It’s For
Children from newborns to young adults with:

  • Delayed motor milestones (rolling, crawling, walking, jumping)
  • Recovery from surgery or injury
  • Neurological conditions or head injuries
  • Joint issues or excessive mobility
  • Concussions, fractures, sprains

  • Evaluation includes caregiver interview and movement assessment
  • Sessions are typically 30 minutes
  • Frequency is based on individualized goals

Benefits

  • Builds strength and coordination

  • Early therapy can reduce long-term complications

School vs. Medical-Based Therapy
School PT focuses on educational needs. Medical PT addresses broader physical challenges at home and in the community.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy supports individuals with communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges, helping them express themselves and connect with others.

Who It’s For
All ages, from birth to geriatrics, including those with:

  • Delayed speech or language development
